Will there be an anti-s2k club as well? What is the source of this new protest? The Grammar Police? Or the "Folks Unaccepting (of) Cutesy Knicknames." (Well, it took a little license to get the acronym to work.)

Well that is something I would like to join. I bought a S2000 not a "Stook". Makes it sound like a bird or something.

cal,

to help you understand the motivating force behind the Anti-"Stook" Club, please let me share with you some enlightening quotes from our membership:

[QUOTE]
I'm not a big fan of the word "stook".
I hate the term "stook".
I hate the word stook.
I think the word stook is a horrible word, totally unbefitting of the car.
I have always hated that word to describe our baby.
It sounds like a sexually confused bird.
Makes it sound like a bird or something.
The name always kinda made the little hairs on the back of my neck do the "wave".
I don't use "stook" in normal conversation.
I have hated the term "stook" since I saw it.
A 'Stook' sounds like something that drops out of your bottom when you're not well.
I like my S2000, not something called "stook".
I find the term "stook" so annoying.
The term does not serve the car well.
It is a discrace to call your own car names.
I simply cannot stand the tarnishing of our car's name.

I want in. The name always kinda made the little hairs on the back of my neck do the "wave". Besides, this word is already used far, far too much for other things. For example:
1. Stook up? Who's stook up? I'm not stook up!
2. If you don't like it, stook it up you're a$$!
3. (In the bank) This is a stook up!
4. Got the short end of the stook.
5. Look at the curl on that hockey stook!
6. What a stook in the mud!
7. (tune) Well, I'm stook on Band-Aid and Band-Aid's stook on me.
8. Hand me the glue stook.
9. That's a nice design on that stooko on the side of that house.
10. Man, that fly paper is stooky.
11. Houstook? I dunno who it is, but somebody call a tow truck to get 'im out.
12. It's not polite to stook out your tongue.

Damn, I knew this would happen if we got spell check. Yet another free-speech battle for me to fight!

BTW, hate the term

Very creative, xviper.

Tedster, I don't use "stook" in normal conversation. It just seemed easier to key in than "s2k" or "S2000." I think the arguments against "stook" are sound so, if I'm considered worthy, I will sign up with the pledge not to use the term again.

Jim,

you bring up a point of no small controversy among the members of the Anti-"Stook" Club.

While we would never seek to infringe on any individual's constitutional right to use the term "Stook", we are somewhat divided as to our response. Our first roll-call vote will be to choose between:

1) apathy and eye-rolling
2) sarcastic mockery of the individual uttering the term
3) polite intervention, pointing out the unseemliness of the term

Josh,

I will have an appropriate response to you after our first roll-call vote. Thank you for your patience.

Ted
