Default Pioneer DEH-8500DAB HELP!

The good lady has offered to get me a new head unit for the impending 32nd birthday (when did that happen!!)

The 8500DAB looks like the way to go however, I have been ploughing through pages and pages on adapters to keep the dashboard controls, I am even more confused than when I started!

I don't want to shell out for the Modifry unit as its a bit steep on top of the HU price.

Can anyone show me what she would need to buy in terms of an adapter? links would be great. I've seen the Celsus one mentioned but struggled to find the correct thing.

My car is 2002,

Thanks to anyone that can alleviate this headache.

I have a much older Kenwood with the Autoleads. Works fine, except CH button does not change stored radio channels, it starts a search for channels.

Don't suppose you can help me out with a link to this lead?

Sorted and ordered from Amazon.

For anyone searching this in the future, you need the PC99-X61 and PC99-SON.

Cheers

Did you get a Sony Head Unit in the end? Or does the Sony patch lead work with your HU?

Yeah, you need a patch lead for all HU brands, but they're different for each brand.

For example,
PC99-ALP for Alpine
PC99-JVC for JVC
PC99-PIO for Pioneer
PC99-SON for Sony

Looks like you've ordered the Sony one?

Ah shame, looks like they're not cross compatible then

OP, see if you can cancel that order. Or worst case, the Patch Leads are under a fiver on eBay:
