Here's some track footage. Instructor was pretty happy with my pace and was happy to say that I should definitely look into signing up for the intermediate run group next event. We shall see how that goes.

I should just retire my driving suit now and give you the Keys to my car!

Definitely see where I need to improve. I do have a tendency to brake a little late and not use the entire width of the track. It'll come with time

Nice driving Kamil. Definitely fast in a slow group. We are all learning, for learning never ends. Seat time will get you moved up mucho quickly. So do as many events as you can while understanding this (HPDE) is not a competition with others, but rather with oneself.

Here's my fav session. Things get nice and exciting after the 7 minute mark. In pursuit of chasing what I believe was a spec Miata I drove on max attack as a few instances of the rear stepping out will show.

That being said I wasn't sure how much I would enjoy the shorter course. But as Aashish also said, I enjoyed it as much as the full course. It was a new animal to learn and overall a faster course. I also employed the use of an app based lap timer (Harrys Lap timer). And while lap times aren't the only important metric, it was nice to see my lap times rather than just guessing whether or not I went any faster. My fastest recorded lap was 1:36.67. Another thing I noticed though that having a lap timer active where I could see it made me push to the limit way more often just for the purpose of getting a faster time. Not sure whether that's a positive or not.

But regardless it was a blast meeting familiar and new faces. And yet another thanks to Aashish for organizing this event! Hopefully get to see our crew again throughout the year!

Here is part of Session 3 where i was behind Kamil, clean lap starts about 3:50 mark in the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TfQJSeOJKs

According to my frame by frame analysis of the clean lap in Sony Vegas pro , looks like my lap time is 1:36 with basically no brakes and a miss shift near the end of the lap. Don't know how good or bad that is.

Excellent driving Ed & Shiv. Loved the car control Shiv. Nice work keeping the rear behind the front.

1:36 is a good time Ed.

Bet you were faster on other laps. I can only dream of a 1:36. Nice work.

My video from the last session on Monday. The times are all conservative, but consistent. The fun begins around the 11 minute mark and ends at the 18 minute mark as I am passed by an E30 M3 and a Noble M400 but try to keep up.

Playing with the data from the lap timer.

In run 4 on Monday, my fastest lap was lap 12 at 1:41.066.

But my fastest rolling time was coming out of turn 11 in Lap 11 through Turn 11 in lap 12 at 1:39.941.

Telling me, I think, that I lost more than a full second just in Turn 11 in Lap 12. So that is one corner that I can work on next year.

Next I have to analyze Turn 9 (the big U turn). Shiv, at what speed were you taking that corner? The best I could do there was about 74 mph.

I think he was taking that at 100 MPH.

Having said that, are you speaking of Turn 5, the turn after the bus stop? 74 is a good speed. Remember each car is set up differently and you have the all season tires in addition to being on stock suspension and alignment like me. Faster speeds going around the corner are as much down to the driver as they are to the mechanical grip the car possesses.
