Following on from the Halfords ICE post I have bought an Alpine INA-N033R from them yesterday when their sale actually started for

 

Have you connected the two ther wires. not sure of the colours pink i think. one was something to do with mute and the other was telephone. they link from the adaptor to the h/unit lomb.

I had this problem until i connected them, works fine now.
I will be able to tell you exact colours at the weekend as i have to remove the h/unit as its fubar

 

No the two extra wires Mute and Telephone on the KCE I taped out of the way as I don`t have a mobile in the car, so I guess I need to join these 2 from the KCE-865B to the H/U flying leads then, the Alpine Interface contained NO instructions at all. Thanks Mate let me know the weekend if your memory is correct (it probally is) and I`ll wrestle with the wiring for a 3rd time !

I did the same and could not figure it out, but luckily i did not put the unit in until i had checked it. Took me about 10 mins to figure it out.
You are right, the instructions are terrible

 

KCE-865B working fine now, you need to connect up the phone mute and power out leads to the Alpie H/U harness. A successful conversion !
