Default P0135 - Primary O2 Sensor

Anyone had this code?

Car is an '07, Intake/Header/Exhaust installed before I purchased.

I pulled the 7.5Amp to reset CEL (maybe didn't do anything...maybe pulled the wrong fuse or the O2 sensor did fail). I wanted to see if the light would go off and maybe come back on.

Should I unscrew and re-tighten the O2 sensor? Would this do anything? (besides waste my time).

Or just pony up the $300 and get a new sensor?

I had it come on Friday. cleared the code with an ODB reader and It has not come back yet after about 80mi.

Edit

mine was the secondary PO139.

You can fine it a lot cheaper than $300 online.

Read this.

edit 2.

On an 06+ I belive you need to use an ODB reader, but I could be wrong. If you don't have one O'Reily's loaned me one to clear mine.

If it's still under warranty, they should cover this. Mina had the same sensor go bad and was replaced under warranty.

Here it is for $134, but check to make sure it's the right one.

I would clear the code and see if it comes back before spending the money on a new one.

Is there a way to clear the code without a code reader? I don't have one.

I checked on this site and one thread talked about pulling a 7.5 amp fuse. Did that and CEL is still lit.

O'Reily's will loan you a code reader that you can take home If needed. You just have to leave a deposit. The hardest part is finding the ODB2 port in the car, took us 10 min. to find it. It's under the dash on the right of the steering column, bring a flash light.

I think pulling the fuse only works on 2000-2005 cars.
