I'm really frustrated. With Torque, I get the message, unable to connect to camera.

The author has been of no help at all.

You have the paid version and Track Recorder plugin downloaded?

Tried different recording resolutions?

Yes, I tried changing the settings and nothing has helped. If the author could get it to work properly, he could gain a huge amount of former aLapHD users and make a lot of money!

I contacted the author. I posted tot their forum...here's my post and reply.

Hello,

I’ve tried adjust the resolution settings of Track Recorder as you suggested with no luck.

I also noticed that if I press the button “Toggle Recording”, it gives me the error message “Unable to create file(Is your memory card installed OK?)prepare failed.

In addition, when connected to the OBDII interface, I can press the button to save the log file, no error messages appear, but when I try for load a log file, it states t o select a log file to load, but doesn’t give me any list to choose from. Looking around the phone itself, I can’t seem to find where the file would be, but I’m not sure where to look.

Are these issues related?

I use a T-Mobile Samsung Vibrant, also called Galaxsy S, also called SGH-T959 running OS 2.3

I mostly interested in getting the camera to work as that is very important to me for the track.

Thank you for the great app!

David

Hi

When you are trying to load a log file, what part of the app are you trying to do that from? (If it is the map view, then you will need to enable ‘trip logging’ which are the files it looks for). I will be adding support to load the ‘file logs’ (which are separate to trip logs) in one of the updates

Thanks for letting me know what phone you have had the issues with – I might actually be able to get hold of one of those to have a look at it to see what’s up! – cameras can often be a pain to support in apps as some have ‘difficult’ settings required before they’ll work (and the android camera API wasn’t great in android 2.1)

Here's my latest effort with Torque and a video camera

I'd add g-meter data but the Modifry mount wobbles about a bit too much for anything to be usable. I also have throttle, coolant temp and engine load info, but they aren't too interesting (especially coolant, which sits between 84 and 94C.

Cool! Can't believe you actually drove Spa! But you lifted through Eue Rouge! Couldn't handle flat out huh?!

Anyway, good driving and good video.

So, let me get it straight, You are no longer using aLapHD at all. You are not using the video function of Torque. Just the data collection with a separate camera. Where does the track map come from?

I finally bought a Contour camera, so I'm ready to try to get back into this again.

It was my 4th trip to Spa - see here for the write up https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/907...t__p__21904944.

No more aLapHD.

I video using my camcorder and you can see the phone on the Modifry mount, as well as the 10Hz GPS on the left hand vent.

I use the data logging function of Torque to get the data. This gets the GPS and OBD2 info.

I then use RaceRender to put the video and data together - the dial design was done in RaceRender.

You just take the csv file that Torque creates and tell RaceRender which column is which, it's pretty straightforward. Torque doesn't do a gear calculation, so you need to use the data along with my spreadsheet linked above and do the calculation that way.

If you want, pm me an email address and I'll send you a template.
