Default HELP NEEDED! Drive train Delay when accelerating

I'm experiencing a delay from the time the accelerator is pressed to the time the car starts to move. The car seems to dive after the gas is pressed before it starts to hesitate and finally moves and this happens in any gear any speed. I would say there is a good 1 second delay from the time I press the gas to the time the car actually accelerates ( this is the best way I can describe the problem ). The problem has gotten worse since i noticed it a couple of months ago

I checked the motor mounts so far and the are still good..

Any ideas what the problem could be? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

thanks guys, cheers

I think I'm not explaining the problem correctly its kind of hard... so here is a scenario; I'm on third gear cruising at about 35 MPH and I decide to step on the throttle and release, the car would sort of knock back and forth as if I was starting in first gear and bogged out....it will also have this drive train "shock" when sudden acceleration occurs.

I think its a mechanical problem underneath but not sure where to start. I highly doubt its something electrical but my assumptions could be completely off.

Yeah I wouldn't say it is drive by wire as that is well implemented on these cars.

Run a fuel injector cleaner like BG44K through the car. clean/replace the PCV valve. Maybe clean the throttle body and MAP sensor.
