Rumor: LH not signing with Mclaren?
thoughts?

I think if he does not sign with McLaren, there are only two teams he'd sign with, the Red team or Red Bull. I'm not sure how he'd fit in either one given he'd either be teammates with Alonso or Vettel.

My post here diappeared for some reason. I'd be very surprised if he left. McLaren have pretty much paved his way into F1 from his karting days and unless there was a substantially better offer on the table he wouldn't be jumping ships. If the McLaren was truely a pig he might but that would need a seat available at a team with a better car availble for him. Only seats that may be availble at 'better' teams are Red Bull if Webber retires this year and Ferrari if Massa gets booted. Webber's seat is being held as far as i can see for Ricciardo while he is groomed by Torro Rosso and Ferrari would be an option because of the no rookies rule but Sergio Perez is no rookie anymore and i suspect he would take up that seat. He would not want to be a team mate to Vettel or Alonso so i can't see him leaving McLaren. Happy to be proved wrong though.

After Montreal's finish, and general execution of the team under pressure, I can't see Hamilton going anywhere else right now. The $64 question is how McLaren's place in the Constructor's cup at the end of the season, and how they plan on leveraging that with more McLaren's rumored releases of a lower-end and upper-end/F1 type car coming, "soon."

If LH does leave McLaren the only team I could see him going to is Mercedes.
Ross Brawn has hinted that in his hands Lewis would be a multiple world champion.
He won't go to Ferrari because Alonso is there on a long term contract. Likewise he will not go to Red Bull because of their golden child.
The NASCAR idea is not so far fetched as you think, he will be a marketers dream on your side of the pond.

Okay, I'm exaggerating a bit, but more 'Muricans on average know Tony Stewart than even Schumi, let alone LH

^ Looks like it may be happening. Here is one more article from the BBC

I dont think its entirely bad for either McLaren or Lewis. Maybe McLaren will sign Paul diResta to partner Jenson Button.
