Walbro 400 fuel pump install

Sorry for bumping an old post, but s2knoob89 after you did that setup did you just connect the red wire to an ignition wire and the black wire to a ground? Or did you then run a relay off of those two wires coming out

Keep in mind passing the wires through as you show is not recommended as the fuel can wick through the stranded copper wire in the insulation. While this may be a minimal amount of fuel, the concern would be the small amount of fuel turning in to vapor and igniting from spark of electrical components (such as the relay). A hermetically sealed connector (like what the factory carrier uses) is recommended.
And or who has had any problems with running the way above ?
Are the factory pins large enough gauge to run the wires internally to it and out from it ?

Shot of the top of the housing. 14g wire.
With the cover removed:
The more I look at it, the more it looks like it was just sliced into right above the connector instead of de-pinned and ran straight into the connector the way I thought it was. I had this done at a shop and haven't had any problems out of it. They could have replaced the wiring inside the housing, but I haven't pulled it to check (and I won't unless I have a problem).
Hope that helps.
