Bridgestone RE-11A from Costco
Hey Everyone,
I'm trying to buy some RE-11A tires to replace the RE050s but when I tried to get these from Costco, I was told there were "no longer being manufactured". From what I've found, Costco is the cheapest place to get these tires on island so I was hoping they could come through. I simply cannot believe what they are saying that these are no longer being produced. These just came out less than 2 years ago.
I was told that I can still get the regular RE-11s but I kinda want to try the new -11As. Does anyone know someone that actually works at a Costco- that has a tire center- that can verify this? The front stock sizes are on back order on tirerack and I want to see if I can avoid paying shipping if I can get them here.
Thanks in advance!

I ordered through their website, but that was a year ago. If its not on their website, it would be hard to argue that they still sell them (in customers perspective). But like felipe said, the RE-11A's are the successor to the RE-11s, and they had the RE-11 at close out price throughout this year. They may have just given people RE-11As at close out price to honor the sale, but have run out of actual RE-11s. Beware though, you don't want to be caught up buying RE-11As for RE-11 price.

So I have an update but still I can't report back any real progress.
I called the Iwilei Costco again today and got a little better explanation of their RE-11A status situation. So Costco in the past did have the ability to sell the regular RE-11 tires in all sizes but when Bridgestone started producing the RE-11A's, they discounted their remaining stock of the regular RE-11s. Costco has received a lot of interest from their customers regarding the RE-11A's but Bridgestone hasn't begun allowing Costco to sell them, even though these tires have been on the market now for 2 years. I was told I could place a special order in person but that did not guarantee the tires would actually be ordered and sent to the Iwilei costco.
So in the end, still no tires, but at least I have a little better understanding of why I cant buy these tires from Costco. I will be going in to place that special order in person but from what I was told, this still could be fruitless. I'll post any new updates as I get them.

GL man! If costco doesn't pull through, and other local places can't order any extreme performance tires (Z IIs, RS3s, RE-11s, etc..), there is always tire rack.
