Grand Teton's and the S....Roadtrip!
I wanted to go somewhere for a quick road trip. I hadnt been to the Tetons in probably 30 yrs, so this sounded like the perfect road trip. We left Thursday morning and returned Saturday afternoon. Clocked exactly 1041 miles, and I still managed to keep my S under 20K on the odometer Not bad for an 04'
We took Hwy 287 north from Loveland, all the way to the park with only about an hour on the interstate in Wyoming. The roads were nice until just north of Dubois, Wyoming which is just east of the park. At that point the road turned into gravel and about 15 miles of road construction. If I didnt have any rattle's before, I'm sure I do now, I thought the frickin car was gonna come apart. I do have a new rock skid on the hood, and new chips in the windshield (Its about time to replace that anyway). Needles to say I took Hwy 191 south out of the park going home which was actually more scenic.
Anyway, we stayed at Jackson Lake Lodge, its centrally located in the middle of the park. The lodge is amazing with its views of the Tetons and overlooks Jackson Lake and the surrounding marsh land. The animal habitat is abundant, with moose, elk, bear, and deer. On Friday night we actually watched a bear stalk a herd of elk. It was amazing to watch.
On with the pics:
Southeastern Wyoming ( What do you want me to say )
Jackson Lake Lodge
View coming up the grand staircase
Our cottage room
Whats this I see through the tree's
Now the scenery:
Now on to the wildlife:
Elk
Deer
The Grandest of them all..............A Grizzly which crossed the road right in front of us
Thanks for looking! :hi:
