My wife and I just got back from celebrating our 25th anniversary and the first vacation in about five years.
We jumped in our S and cruised up to Little River Canyon.
This is one of if not the deepest gorge east of the Mississippi river. The area is beautiful and covered with winding roads absent of RVs and traffic in general. One road goes from about half way along the gorge to the mouth of the river where they have a park.
A huge sign warns that large trucks and RVs are not allowed due to how narrow the road is and the extremely sharp turns.
This road was eleven miles long and had grass growing out of the occasionaly traveled lanes. The pot holes were all filled and as a result I could concentrate strictly on driving.

We stayed in a rustic cabin at Desoto State Park at night but during the day we were cruising with the top down in perfect weather doing just exactly what the car is built to do.

This place is about 120 miles from my house but by the time I got home we had added 480 miles to the odometer. I only drove the S 3000 miles in 2002.
I will be back at work Monday but those three days with my best girl and my S will keep me in grins for months to come.
