Connecting ASWC-1 to aftermarket head unit
I'm installing an Alpine UTE-52BT into my S2000 and want to retain the stock audio controls using the ASWC-1. I have a couple questions about wiring this all up correctly. I downloaded the S2000 specific instructions but I'm still having a bit of trouble. I have the alpine adapter hooked up to the harness no problem. On the ASWC-1 harness I hooked the red wire to the 12V ignition wires on the Alpine and car harness, the green/white and black wires to the chassis ground wires, but I'm having trouble figuring out where the yellow/green and gray/red wires are supposed to be spliced. For gray/red it says pin 3 of the vehicle and yellow/green is pin 14, both of which have no wires in the harness, they're unused. Do these wires actually need to be spliced INTO the car and can't be spliced into the harness adapter? I've been trying to pre-wire everything at my desk. Haven't pulled out the stock radio yet.
Also, where does the 3.5mm jack go into the back of my Alpine?
Thanks for all the help.

Most generic Honda adapter harnesses lack the s2000-specific dash switch (pin 3) and mute switch (pin 14).
However, they usually have one or more unused pins which can repurposed by moving them into the
appropriate positions - insert a tiny jeweler's screwdriver to release the pin from the connector.
If you have no rear speakers you can use those, or there's usually an extra "dimmer" wire which
won't have a corresponding wire in the car's harness. BTW, early cars have no rear speaker wires
in the car's connector anyway!
It's kind of ironic that the instructions tell you to connect an ASWC wire to pin 14 (mute switch)
but then tell you the mute won't work. Something tells me you can skip that step.
