Default cda-9883 questions

so i bought a alpine 9856 but the company i ordered it from ran out of stock and is now sending me a 9883 at no extra cost.( the 2007 replacement for the 9856) im just wondering.. what type of dci stuff will i have to buy with this.. wired/ remote and what type of wire harness should i be gettin for this?

wat about a wire harness, i have an old aftermarket head unit in the car now, it has a wire harness but im wondering if upgrading to a new wire harness, will that help performance?

you'll want a harness adapter that already has the DCI wires, unless you want to do that yourself. Modifry sells one for a good price so just add it to the DCI purchase then solder/connect-it-however to the alpine harness (shorten each ones wires IMO) then plug the harness adapter into the stock honda plug.

Are you sure? If the 9883 is a straight replacement for the 9856, would it require a wireless or wired DCI? I have to admit I haven't seen the specs on the new HU.

Yes, 9883 can use the Wired DCI.

I perused the Alpine 2007 HU manuals and updated my
compatability page to indicate which models will work with the Wired DCI.
