I used both when I did mine, but I think the crush gasket should be enough.
Should be easy to fix if you notice it leaking though.

It would be blowing out exhaust gases so I guess it should be noticeable.
Or when thinking about it, it might actually be possible it would be sucking in air if there is a bit of venturi effect in the exhaust ports.

I'm just going to hope it is that as I've checked everything, undone and redone hoses to make sure there is a good deal and can get it to stock. Thanks for the help!

I helped a friend install kpro in his AP1 and his CT intake was significantly louder after. It was especially noticeable at idle.
