European Civic Type-R on its way to Japan

http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?act=module&module=gallery&cmd=viewimage&img=673466&md=1Following our previous report for the availability of the European Civic Type-R in Japan, it looks like the model is on its way to Japan as you read this. Japanese market will get a taste of the Civic Type-R very soon, since some of the first vehicles are already on board and left from Southampton port. This model is being produced in the UK for Europe and this time for the Japanese market as well. Honda plans to have about 2,000 units available in Japan in three colours, Championship White, Alabaster Silver and Milano Red. As for the performance the 2.0 liter engine produces 201 hp and we expect to go higher once the Japanese tuners get their hands on it.

This is the same engine that is in the Ariel Atom. They use hondata with their own tune to bump it up to 245 (from what I remember from my tour of Ariel) and then supercharge it to 300bhp. Looks just like FC20!
