EJ25 or 4G63
Hey everyone, I'm looking to start a project and I've always wanted an S2k. I've owned an Evo 8 gsr and two WRX's. I'd like to swap either an EJ25 or 4G63 into an S2K. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I've seen youtube videos of 4G63 swapped S2Ks so I know that's possible, but I'd really like to do the EJ25 with Full-Race twin scroll set up running a Garrett GTX3076R. My main concern is if the horizontally opposed EJ would fit.

I'm looking for 450whp maybe more RELIABLE and having worked in the automotive performance industry long enough and knowing enough about the F20/F22 I think the EJ or 4G would be a better starting point

If you've worked long enough to know, then you would know a LS would be an even better starting point.

Lol @ the ej being a more reliable engine than an F series. EJ's have always been the weak point in the wrx/sti, specifically the pistons/rings, not counting the wrx's 5 speed. If you hang around here long enough you'll find the F series is whats makes the s2k and the drivetrain is the weak link. Stock block F's are well documented to hold well up to 6-700hp without any issue for many, many thousands of miles but the diff and trans are what won't hold up to it. Most people making big power are moving on to supra 6spd getrags and ford 8.8 rears.
On the other hand, the 4g's will also take a hell of a beating and might as well be Mitsubishi's reliable equivalent to the F and should make some more torque. There is really little point in swapping out an F series unless you have to be unique or you must have torque, in which case you effectively bought the wrong car.
I'm all for swapping engines and making interesting frankensteins out of cars but you have to keep in mind how expensive and how much trouble and headaches are involved. And the s2k isn't a car that needs an engine swap.
