The money you spend swapping engines you could have a nice built s2 engine.... and maybe save some cash....

Visually the Ej will not fit. There is not nearly enough room between the frame rails of the S2000, I pulled the motor out of an 07' STI limited last week and those things are fawking wide. If you'd like i can get more accurate measurements of both the area between the frame rails and the width of a complete EJ25 this week.

HANDS DOWN---->LSx. I'm in the process of this swap. Reliable and 400whp, easily produced. If you end up on V8S2000 my username is S6000

I'd like to swap either an EJ25 or 4G63 into an S2K. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Why?
I'm looking for 450whp maybe more RELIABLE and having worked in the automotive performance industry long enough and knowing enough about the F20/F22 I think the EJ or 4G would be a better starting point

If you've worked long enough to know, then you would know a LS would be an even better starting point.

True words here. This would a good starting point http://www.hinsonsupercars.com/s-944-honda-s2000.aspx

It says still in development, but I've talked to them on the phone and they have everything you need for the swap ready to sell.

Myself and a few others on here have LS swapped RX7 FD's (and there's an LS swapped S2k or two on the boards). Let me tell you, there's plenty of power out of the box and gobs more can be had for cheap. Reliability would not be an issue at all.

I'd love an LS swapped S2000. Especially after driving my swapped FD. Maybe someday I'll add a 2nd S2k to the stable with one

With forced induction, you don't need to be at 7K rpm all the time, obviously. The F20 is the same displacement as the 4G63. The EJ25 has the extra (roughly) 460cc of displacement but it's not built to rev and it doesn't flow nearly as well, stock.

Honestly, of those three, the F20 (or F22) will be more reliable and make more power AND you can still rev it high.

Just make sure you have money to do a $2K+ rear end swap (R200 differential) and probably a new transmission somewhere along the way as well.

Lets be honest here, the OP is clearly comfortable with these two motors and just doesn't want to stray out of his comfort zone, I understand and respect that, but what these guys are sayin is true. I would argue that the F series is the best 4 cylinder to make big power on (maybe not the cheapest, but definitely sturdy and fast as hell)

Please post a build thread if you decide to go through with this as I would love to see it, but I would highly suggest you reconsider, as you will probably end up spending more than double what it would cost to build an F series and you still wouldn't be making more power than what's possible on the F series.

What transmission would you plan on using?

I don't know about all this swapping. I run my F20C with 14psi on a 93mm pulley with rotrex supercharger and track my car on hot summer days with no problems at all. I'm making 481hp and 300ft/lb on Dynapack. Even mis-shifted from 3rd to 2nd, and suffered zero damage to short block. The F20/22 don't get enough credit.

Too much turbo charged torque feels good, but is difficult to drive as it's not linear or instant (specifically on an S2000).

Can I use your above comment as a quote?
