Only a few months after launching his Instagram, Matt Choi has everyone’s attention with his third S2000.

It’s always a wonderful moment when an S2000 enters a new owner’s life. If it’s their first, it’ll never be forgotten. The six-speed manual, the powerful, naturally aspirated inline-four, the good looks, all there to leave a lasting impression on the heart and soul.

For a few though, once an S2000 enters the picture, it’ll never leave. Instagrammer Matt Choi (a.k.a. mb_s2k) is one of those lucky few. His account may only be a few months old, but he’s already on his third roadster, and it’s got it going on!

Choi’s current S2000 is a 2008 example, wrapped in a satin gray wrap. It’s a serious machine, too, starting with the big rear wing, and ending with the front splitter and canards. The hood is a carbon-fiber unit with a functional air duct to keep the 2.0-liter inline-four cool under pressure.

“No other car can give you that feeling when you sit in a S2000 cockpit,” wrote Choi in October of 2019. And he knows this more than anybody. Once upon a time, he owned and rode a Yamaha R1, which he loved more than anything.

Alas, some jerkass stole his two-wheel dream from his then-home three years ago. The act left Choi heartbroken, leading to him to walk away from riding all together after three years with the motorcycle. Then, his 2008 S2000 arrived, providing him with the canvas needed to build the four-wheel R1 of his new dreams.

In the past, Choi’s owned a 2004 and a 2005 S2000. The first ride — the 2004 S2000 — entered his life a decade ago, a black car with only new wheels and suspension for the mods.

His current ride also has new wheels and suspension, the latter consisting of Ohlins DFV shocks and struts paired with bronze Swift springs. The 2.0-liter remains stock at the moment, but it could be boosted down the road.

We can’t wait to see where Choi will take his 2008 S2000 next, but from what he’s shown thus far, it’s already looking like the four-wheel sport bike he’s envisioned from the start.
