sounds fishy, but if you supplied that bearing then it isn't their fault. if they supplied it, then they are responsible to get re-imbursment (which never happens) from the manufacturer

I bought a 240SX once used that came to me with a bent shift fork, tranny would pop out of 2nd from decel torque slowing down to go around corners. Fortunately the dealer fixed it for free - 30 day warranty.

Yah, i supplied the bearing. And from doing more research it sounds like its pretty normal that they would charge labor for any further work. So i've cooled off about that topic.

I've gotten science of speed in touch with this shop, and they are going to put give some advice on resolving the issue so that they don't have to open it back up again.

& what shop is this that charged you $1800 in labor ONLY to swap an s2000 clutch & one shift lever? G/L & let me know if you get it resolved, sounds like it might be the TO bearing like they claim, no reason for it to be the clutch unless they didn't line it up properly (which you can do without an alignment tool even on an s2k, despite some people's thinking).

<shakes head, I seriously do not charge enough, lol.

I know, right?

I think SoS charged me a total of $1400 to do the clutch for parts and labor. I don't recall exactly b/c it was a year ago - but I do know it wasn't 1200 just for the labor. Figure an 8 or 9 hr job and 1200 means you're paying $125+/hr labor!

that 1800 included a complete overhaul (brass and bearings) as well as installing a new clutch kit and flywheel

I apologize for not making that clear.

So.................i finally (after now 3 weeks) get my car back, and not only is the original clicking problem NOT fixed. But now my headlights, blinkers, and brights don't work. And its not a fuse. And when I turn the wheel to the left it does like a rubbing noise in the actual steering wheel. WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY DOING TO MY CAR!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I'm taking it to science of speed where I know it will be treated properly and taken care of and fixed.

SCREW this place!

Maybe the plug for the lights is disconnected behind the steering wheel? Lights not working and a rubbing when you turn the wheel...

Science of speed fixed the light problem in about 5 minutes. When these other people put my car back together they didn't plug in my roof or hazard switches. and when Brian (i believe that was his name) played with the fuses the lights started working again *shrugs*

Whatever it was, if that other place can't even do the simple stuff, I definitely don't want them playing with something serious. My car is out of there.

Oh and even better, while driving it home last night, out of the blue, my o2 sensor on the header blew out of the bung. and all of a sudden i sounded like ass. So i pulled off to take a gander (thinking it was something more with the tranny, and sure enough, saw the o2 sensor just hanging down. The bung wasn't damaged, but the o2 sensor is. the thread on is completely messed up, there is no way i will be able to get that screwed back on. So i'm getting that fixed today as well!

I'm so glad my car is out of their hands. The only thing that sux now is that I have to drop even more money on this whole ordeal. I've already spent: $1100 for clutch/flywheel setup, and $2000 for tranny rebuild (1800 + 200 for warranty, which i regret getting)
