Default Cox connection issues

Anyone else having problems connecting to ebay, yahoo, microsoft, apple, others?

I have been having issues for a couple days and it looks like others are also.

If you are having issues please call cox support - they do not do crap unless they get lots of calls.

You know I noticed this the last few days. I thought it was a backbone outage since nobody else I know is experiencing it.

As suggested in the thread, just hard code a public dns. Solved my issue.

Which Pub DNS did you use? Did you add it at the router or under network connections?

Yes, under basic settings, I switched the router to manual instead of auto.

This one is public
63.226.12.96

I also have my own hosting company so I use that as secondary
68.178.144.50

You are welcome to use it as well.

My father mentioned he was having similar issues to me today, but I am not having any issues. He is in the Scottsdale area, while I'm in Tempe

It will likely happen if you power cycle your router and modem, or if COX resets it.

Thanks for the IP's Boofster - I was using the 63.226.12.96 one already, but still am having issues with some sites (earthlink, wellsfargo, and a couple others).

COX sucks. No wonder you guys are having issues. Leave them while you can or before they raise their rates again.

MEDIACOM for me.

I've been working OK now. I had some issues the other night when the storm came through.

I am still having issues with some sites using the auto DNS from Cox.

Currently using:
DNS1 - 4.2.2.1
DNS2 - 63.226.12.96 (this is a cox DNS)
DNS3 - 68.178.144.50 (as provided by Boofster)

Everything works fine using these DNS IP's
