I dont know if a spot has been decided on but Superstition Honda and Right Honda, those guys are D-Bags with a capital D. Ive got a couple mis-haps with both of them. Bought an 07 Fit Sport from Right and and 06 Sebring S from Superstition not just their sales team but parts and receptionist are D-Bags. Never dealt with service as i perform all my own service, so they may be OK but cant comment on that. So if we could have it anywhere beside these places would be cool, and ill even help find somewhere else if needed as i have contacts at Showcase Honda, the only thing with them is their parking lot isnt that big, but doesnt hurt to ask.

the thing with superstition honda is that it is easy (and closest) to get back to when coming from the drive.....as far as their service goes, i have never dealt with them either, but if they are just sponsoring the event and not the site, then i don't see that being a big problem.

Beggars can't be choosers, and we are begging at this point.

There are other drives that can be taken, Simmy.

I wouldn't want to have an interstate meet at a dealer that a member here is against. Just my $0.02.

I don't know if it's the begging point yet, Kirk. Close, perhaps. But not yet

Just to follow up, UMS is cool with hosting but their parking is very limited. There is a front area but I'm not sure if we can use it. There is also massive construction going on to enter through so I am not feeling the location.

They said they will consider sponsoring as soon as we have something to send them. I will take care of that when we are ready.

we don't have any sponsors yet.....hell we don't even know if superstition is game yet (from what i've read). You're right other drives can be taken, but as of now, that is the only solid idea that we have for a drive.

The UMS lot would be good for about 25 cars. Also its wayy in the back so its pretty hard to find, and like you said theres tons of construction going on right now. The entire complex they're in is brand new. Id love to see Tony offer up some sponsorship but as for their parking lot, its pretty much out of the question for an event of this size

Has anyone talked to any of the Car Clubs in the valley? I know PHARCYDE rents TEMPE TOWN LAKE for their NOVEMBERFEST. They always seem to know how to contact people for events. It doesnt have to be at a dealer or shop. There are many parks around the valley that would love to host an event, as long as it is ran properly and with some sort of organization. Parks are nice if they have ample parking and have facilities and some BBQ's and tables. Let me know if i can help in any way possible, i know alot of people in the valley as ive been in the import scene for 15 years now so i can try and see what i can do, just let me know what you need me to look into and i will. I want an even that runs smooth and everyones enjoys. As for last year at Earnhardts i didnt really enjoy it!

my contact at superstition gets in town on weds. soi wll talk to him then. the drive is great, ad it looks like the best option besides going on the same old drive as thelast 3 years the other event had. no thanks. i wouldn't want to come out and do the same thing year after year. gets old. all new and fresh. thats what this should be about. and this drive is great. plenty of scenery.
not too many places besides a dealerhip will have enough parking for 70ish cars. gotta take that ino effect. and we definately don't want it to feel crowded and tight

Don't want to step on anyone's toes, but a couple of thoughts...

1. Has anyone gone in to Earnhardt's to talk with Larry, the service manager, about the change in sponsorship? Maybe if someone took the lead, they may reconsider. Even if they won't go back to the discounted services, they may still host the event and such. And we all know that the service dept there is the best of any Honda dealer in AZ.

2. Chris at Science of Speed has always been a strong supporter of this group. Maybe he would host?

3. Think outside the box. Rick Hall's Auto Doctor has several locations across the valley, and before I got hooked on Cesar's great service, I always had good luck with them. (I think they are still exclusively Honda / Toyota service?) Maybe they would consider hosting this type of event.

Just some thoughts. I hate seeing Kirk say he's desparate
