Ivan, did you make any other changes besides the tune in this chart?

Exact numbers are of no importance. The only difference is in the change you see in the before and after tune of YOUR car.

I had AEMv2, J's header, TP, Exhaust and I picked the 'Toda' spec reflash.
We didn't have the luxury of tuning so it was one of the two pre-cooked reflashes from Hondata.
An actual tune should yield even more gains (as well as safety) because it's tailored to your particular car in it's normal environment (rather than different altitude/temp/conditions)

Here are a couple of more dynos that simply illustrate that a good tune makes all the difference:

Hondata Toda reflash vs Stock on their test car (Autowave in CA afik):

Here is Simmy's tune on a Greddy E-Manage:

Notice how all these look almost the same

I'm pretty much sold on the reflash tuned by UMS after digging around s2ki for hours. The Evans e-tune is waaaaaaaay cheaper but I like the idea of working with someone local for dyno tuning, since it seems to me to be as much art as science and every engine is different.

I'm leaning towards ordering the Hondata from Evasive just to save sales tax since its the same price everywhere and they offer free shipping on it. Anyone have good or bad experience with them?

(thanks for all the advise btw, you guys are a great resource)

Seems it's $690 everywhere I've seen. Maybe try PM'ing an s2ki sponsor for a deal? (gotuning/evasive/idk?) Evans is legit. Got my injectors from him.

I also found the ClubRSX store to always sell stuff for cheapest around. Not sure why they carry S2k stuff but I got my reflash from them.

You can also try and see if SOS or UMS will give you some kind of package deal that will beat the tax difference.

It isn't like Evans just gives you an off the shelf, cookie cutter map.

I am not making a case for one of the other, but I would not hesitate to proceed with an e-tune, especially from someone like Jeff Evans. He is going to have you log real world conditions, part throttle, all gears, city, highway, ac on, off, etc. You don't drive your car on a dyno very often do you?

That said any dyno tuner worth their salt, is going to road tune the car after pulling it off the dyno, but with something like an e-tune he is probably going to spend more "time" on it, as he isn't taking the time to run the car on the dyno, logging, etc.

You are going to get a tune over a MUCH longer time span. ie. many days and possibly even a few weeks, in various conditions, vs on one day in a couple hour time span.

Do a header too while your at it..lol

+1 on what cronic said. For the price you are going to get way more attention to the detail of day to day street driving on how you drive the car from evans.Evans customer service is top notch, Hes the type of guy that you can email your tune in at 11pm at night and 9/10 times your revision will be waiting for you by 6am the next morning. The local guys will throw it on the dyno due a few wide open pulls adjust vtec/igition/fuel and maybe put a hour or so for street tuning it. Now your tune is going to be a basic bolt-on tune so there arent going to be a lot of variables to work with, and you probably wont feel a difference between a evans tune and a ums/locash/xact/dynocomp tune. But if it was my car I would have Evans tune it in a heart beat. Ive been in booste cars tuned by all of the above mentioned tuners and evans cars have always drove the best, as they should since he has tuned more s2000s then all the local tuners combined. I do like the Idea of keeping your money local, but in the end you have to do whats best for your car

110% agree with what both Cronic and Chubby Ninja have said.

How much is an e-tune? Does he give discounts if you get a tune, install parts, then want to get a re-tune? Otherwise it seems I need to wait until I accumulate all my future parts before buying flashpro and getting a tune.

If you purchase the Flashpro from Evans its $150 bucks for the eTune with the coupon he gives you, if you change out your parts in the future its another $100 bucks for another eTune.

Im on my 5th revision with Evans and it feels great! I got a couple pointers from Averagejoe and I have a couple of questions to ask about my tune and a couple small tweaks he suggested. I have been lazy and not done the next revision yet, I will probably do this tonight. Overall after talking to Averagejoe and having him ride along and watch the laptop he and I both agreed it feels and drives great! Well worth the $100 bucks!
