Didn't someone have a UMS gift certificate they didn't want?
Maybe you can sell it to Kirk? Feezy maybe was it?

street tunes and etunes are not close to the same thing. if you want it done right, there is only one way to do it. there is more than just looking at a recording. There are sounds sights and smells. someone from 1000 miles can't tell you any of that.

That was the way I used to think also, and is true for an inexperienced etuner/street tuner. But the proof is in the people that have been tuned by them or similar experienced tuner. Ask Brandon, Nik, Brett, Dave, or Andrew, Most of them were all tuned locally first and then had an etune. Their experiences and tune were better then what anyone here has done for them. You can also go to the Engine management section and see what people who have HAD etunes thought of their experience with evans or jump on 8thcivic.com and see all the turbo SI's making over 400 and some deep in the 500s off of etunes. Do any of you that are knocking on etunes have any experience with them? I dont mean a street tune from some friend of a friend. But do you have any experience with a etune from a PROFESSIONAL?
If I could of do it all over again, I would have skipped tony, and gone straight to evans the first time and had him etune my car.

I have to completely agree here.

My etune experience was truly impressive.

Also let's also take into consideration that Kirk is talking about an NA tune. Very little risk here, not like he needs to be listening for extreme knock, watching a boost gauge etc. Evans is going to start extremely conservative and work on up...

No offense to UMS tuning but for the price they should have much better customer service. Let's not even get into the technical side. That will become a war.

The only thing I would mention is that it's getting hot out and it's not worth spending the money on a tune until things cool off. Etune or not.

You mean because the tune won't be done properly in the heat or because our cars have no power in the heat?

Yes. Because of the heat he is going to have to retard the timing more and add more fuel to keep it safe which will rob you of some power. You could get a tune for the summer and get a retune for the winter. Then just switch back between the two maps when the seasons change.

^ I like that idea. Especially when considering doing any summer time track days.
