Your right. I guess they started the 5/60 in 06. That does suck.

Again, sorry about the car. So do you think it's a bent valve?

Im not even sure to be honest, I am thinking I want to try and do a valve adjustment next and then try compression check again? Should I even bother?

Calling SOS tomorrow and asking them what they think.

Im open to ideas.

Trying to get money together for a possible motor rebuild or buy a used motor or buy a beater car / truck and rebuild my s2k.

So many different options.

Where to go from here I am not sure what do you guys think I should try next?

9/10 its a foreign object(piece of metal, water, shop rag, etc..) coming in contact with the valve and the piston. Other times it is an overrev, the timing chain jumping teeth, or the valve spring being really loose and it comes in contact with the piston.

Well the 180 psi on number 1 is way above the acceptable 10% variance between cylinders.

At this point you need to do a valve adjustment on that cylinder only.

recheck compression, still bad? put a couple cap fulls of new motor oil into the cylinder and recheck compression. If it goes back up to normal bad rings. Still low, its gonna be a bent valve more then likely.

Assuming compression doesn't go normal with the oil trick. The head is going to need to be redone on cylinder 1 at least. $20 per valve x4, S2K tend to burn exhaust guides early so take this opportunity to replace all of them with upgrades $95, $80 in gaskets, $350-$450 in machine shop labor to get the head to a minty status. $700 total if you do it yourself. Have a shop do it and your looking at $1750-$2000.

Just want you to know what your looking at, been here done this.

Checking the piston face for damage will be necessary as well. Unless its real bad Id let it go.

Super Sighs.

I say do a valve adjust see what happens, sell the SC and keep going.

Do boost another day, don't get rid of the S.
