I know I've bugged a bunch of you about this already, but has anyone done anything about the crappy speakers we've got? I want to add some nice mids, tweeters, and an amp. Been getting conflicting stories on the best option from audio places around Phx. Prices range from $400-2500.

I just want to be able to hear my music over the 9000rpm every once in awhile. Curious to know what people have done.

Thanks
Dave

Dave,

I replaced the stock speakers with Sony 1621's within a week of buying the car...those stock ones are pretty awful. If you check the electronics forum, there are guys who have have added all of the components to various locations in the car.

I am in the process of changing out the stock head unit for a Blaupunkt San Francisco (need to find the correct adapter harness). It offers automatic EQ adjustment based on cabin noise level, cabin noise cancellation, and a couple of nice features to make it work easier/cleaner with the dash controls. It also has the best FM sensitivity of any unit that I could find, which comes in handy on long drives out of the city.

I haven't gotten around to thinking about an amp yet.

Thanks--I know there's a lot on the electronics forum (must have been blind when I looked yesterday) but there are so many different suggestions that it's hard to make any kind of decisions. Knowing what the locals have done & the chance to see/hear in person is a bonus.

Take care & drive fast, Dave

Try using 2nd thru 6th gears a little...then you won't always be at 9k.
