Update:

Talked with the owner Ann from the lodge. The entire lodge is currently penciled in for our group. That means we need to get the word out and make sure we can fill the place!!

Ann is preparing quotes for me of different options. This will include room rates (I asked for some discounts and I will negotiate the price with her), breakfast options,and happy hour options. I will also begin discussing when deposits will be due and how I want to handle it.

Stay tuned. I will pass updates as I have them. Please remember I am doing this in my free time, and the trip is 7 months away so there will be times when there is not much to report.

I can't wait for this trip. I got my vacation day off approved, so I'm good to go. Adam, you are doing a great job!

 

Monday update. Working with the lodge to finalize what I want to see in the quote. I expect to have a quote by the end of this week

Right now here is how things are shaping up.

Quote is based off of renting the entire lodge. I will divide that number by the amount of people we have and charge a flat rate to each person attending.

Happy Hour: Host bar (members to pay for their drinks on their own) for the group from 5 pm – 7 pm on Friday and Saturday with beer at $3.00 each, well drinks at $4.50 and call drinks at $5.50 – these prices do not include tax and gratuity. I will also get a quote for having appetizers served during happy hour. I personally would like to see the group do this. I think it would be fun to have a few drinks and just hangout each night. Friday night we can get a couple drinks in us then head out to Molly Butler for dinner.

Saturday night we will have dinner at the Amberian. Based on last years input we will order off the menu. We will have a reservation, but we can slowly trickle into the restaurant. We will have split seating at different tables but I hope to have a whole section reserved so we are still in close proximity. Ordering will be off the main menu.

Continental breakfast sat/sun morning.

I asked for an itemized quote so I can see what each item costs, and the complete breakdown. Then we can either vote on it, or I will make the decision on what I think is best for the group. Please keep in mind this is a vacation, in a vacation town. Prices will be higher here because of that. I will do my best to cater to everyone, but at some point this is a vacation, and its not all going to come down to how "cheap" we can make it.

 

Please remember to sign up on the waiting list if you are interested. We had a lot of people drop out last year for various reasons, and I expect that to happen this year. So just because the trip is "full" it really isn't. GET ON THE LIST so you get dibs when spots open up!!!

Also, I will personally work with people on the waiting list to find other accommodations in the town of Greer. Know that the town is only 1mile long, so we are all very close no matter what. Friday night we walk probably .5mile to the restaurant, so if you are at a different lodge/hotel, we can get you on thew way.

 

Got confirmation of our first official sponsor of the event. They will sponsor a meet/greet and a lunch before we leave Phx.

Working on some other local vendors as well.
