Default HUMP DAY MEET I

It was fun guys! Here are some pix. Excuse the quality.

Btw, can I see a show of hands for interest in track day? Like we discussed, it still is preliminary. S2ki no longer provides insurance so we have to look into the track's policy. Anyway here they are:

You know I'm always up for a track day... but I have some suggestions based on tips from a friend (not going to mention any names).

We need to do a track day WITH the Miatas. The Miatas will help keep the cost down and provide some good competition (let the jokes commence).

The Miatas also have access to insurance that we don't have... in short, we "trick" (and I mean that in the least devious way possible) them into hosting the event. They will then provide the insurance for the meet. Moreover, in the event that something should occur, they would be help liable for hosting the event. Everyone wins!

Hopefully I'm not knee deep into my turbo build by the time this track event presents itself. I might just have to show up in an M3, provided I get it on time ... and we all know that wouldn't be fair.

Yeah, I have spoken to Lloyd about this months ago. Mark just told me today that s2ki no longer will cover us. I didn't get a chance to look into LSP's insurance yet, but I did get a price and availability for Nov. and Dec. at EVOC.

Sounds good... just be careful with Dec. It usually isn't a big deal down here, but the temps on select days make for less than favorable track conditions.

Sucks that we can't get track insurance anymore. It must be separate from event insurance because the annual events at the Dragon are HIGHLY covered by the insurance. Go figure.

Remember we live in the deep south here...doesn't get too cold If we were to have a HPDE day, we would invite the Miata club and others anyway. To keep it affordable for everyone, we would need about 15-20 drivers ...so keeping it exclusively S2000 wouldn't work.

If you look at Mardigrasmiata.net, they do not have any track day scheduled anytime soon. That's why I was toying with the idea for Nov/Dec.

Well keep brainstorming and make this happen

WAIT.....they do have a track day, Nov 25th.

NOV 25? That's my birthday! WOOT WOOT! Let's do it.

The only reason I mentioned watching for cold days is because we canceled a few Red Bluff runs last years due to cold weather. I don't remember my birthday ever being terribly cold.... lets look into it!

Is the Miata track day at NPR or EVOC?

There is a lapping day this Saturday at NPR. I will be there.

I hope you guys can pull off a track day. That would be awesome. I love running at EVOC.

for EVOC

NPR is a terrible track. I think it was designed by Stevie Wonder.

I'm up for bringing my fire breathing Miata out to EVOC in November... as long as Francis rides with me for one session.

What's up Bill!

How many people do you guys have so far? Do keep us posted
