Default OBD2 Port not Reading

I cannot connect to the ECU on my 2005 S2000. I have used both an OBD2 code scanner and Bluetooth module linked to my phone in the past. I got a new phone a few months ago and never set it up again. My CEL is not on, but I do training classes once in a while at work and during the testing segment I use my car to show everyone how to use a code reader. This last time, it would not connect. So I tried to link my phone and Bluetooth module with no success. I have checked the accessory outlet fuse, and it was good. The code scanner and module both power up when connecting to the port, they just can't read from the ECU. Anyone else have any issues that might give me any ideas where to look, what to do? Thanks.

With ignition switch OFF, disconnect both battery cables, turn ignition switch to ON position and then touch the positive and negative terminals together for 10 seconds. Turn ignition switch to OFF position and reconnect both cables to battery. This procedure will clear any codes, but I don't know if it will help with your scan gauge no read problem.
