Just threw on my T1R 70R EM exhaust today the exhaust note is perfect in my opinion. Much deeper tone but not much louder and when you set cruise it is silent. I am really impressed with this exhaust especially if the 14 hp dyno numbers are true.
|
I seriously considered that exhaust myself man. Very nice!

I'm about to make a TD Ameritrade account! Any suggestions?
|
As far as accounts or what sir?
|
I mean any recommendations for online traders for someone with a small amount of money? I'm just trying to learn a little bit about this...
|
I always bid on technology and split it up. Aggressive on one and long term on the other. Also go with a mindset you are going to lose. Especially the way the market is right now. Honestly if you are trying to invest money even though it's a low return I would go with a CD. It's a guarantee return and go through a credit union. They have higher rates then your larger banks

For stock where you are never gonna lose big..... or win big, then utilities are always good.
Also, for long term stuff just about any large company is good right now since everything has dropped so much, and eventually most will go back up. To do a little bump for the company i work for. Emerson Electric is a safe bet. If you look at their stock price history since the early 80s they have increased by over 1,000%. Overall its a pretty steady upward march. |

*Warning, long winded post about investing* :D
Best way to learn is to jump in and start playing. Thats what I did about 2 1/2 years ago now. I did short term trading, 2 days to a week for about a year of that with about 50% of the funds in my account. Ended up working out for me but it felt more like gambling haha. In the end though I learned a lot about what to look for and how to track stock movements. I would stay start with something that you have heard of before or think is good and research from there. In my opinion there are really two theories to researching stocks. There is a valuation side and a technicals side, I try to blend the two for a sure bet, if I am trading short term the technicals can be pretty good once you figure out the signs. Technical analysis includes looking at pricing trends using indicators such as "MACD, Stoich, RSI, moving averages, etc..." I realize those prob mean nothing to you, just throwing the terms out there for now. The other side is valuation, looking at the balance sheet of a company comparing the Debt to Equity ratio, judging their future earnings, looking for stocks that are well below their high for no reason, etc. In this market finding value stocks is key, difficulty is right now in comparison to the past 2 years most stocks are at or near year highs. That wasn't the case a year ago. Now aside from all this I also have two very different strategies, I have one account that is a Roth IRA and then my play money in my brokerage account. In my IRA I look for high income stocks (stocks that have a good dividend yield) or stocks that are just really well valued at the time but at the same time are reliable (aka not going to go belly up). In my brokerage account I have the mindset that I could lose all that money at anytime and still be able to continue living the way I am. I do anything from day trade to invest in mutual funds in this account. So as a starting point decide what your goals are for your money. I could go on forever about this stuff but I'm going to cut myself off here and just throw down the key points. If anyone is interested in talkin more about investing and the market we can also make another thread about it, I would love to hear you guys opinions. -Don't invest in penny stocks, if its selling for less than a dollar stay away. Yes some are tempting but it is not worth it, I had been told this and tested it with a lil $90 trade on an especially tempting stock and the money up and left. -Be prepared to lose all the money you invest, seriously all of it. I started investing right before the Lehman Brothers fall. I was actually day trading Lehman stock and sold out the day before it went belly up and made a good penny. I continued day trading financials during that time (it was crazy seeing money go up or down 15-30% a day!) and I traded Washington Mutual many times back and forth til the day it was "bought out" when I first heard the news I was excited cause a buy out means a higher stock price right? Not when its seized by the government and then sold, lost 99.5% of that money. -Mutual funds are a great investment tool. Sure its not as fun as trading your own stocks but the dudes doing it have a much better feel on the market than you. Won't have as many spectacular ups but won't have as many depressing downs. You can find things here as aggressive as gold and precious metals or bond funds. -To learn up on some of what to watch for check out some of CNBCs shows. Fast Money is a great show for aggressive trading, Mad Money is decent for safe returns (although Cramer is annoying as shit), and Kudlow report is good for some in depth market debates. All of them are on around 4-8ish or something. Granted it is the public news so take it for what its worth. -Have fun and learn to take bumps as the come and don't get greedy with gains Lastly heres a few examples of stocks fitting stuff I suggested above, or simply stock suggestions: High income stock- Altria (MO) currently yields 6.23% with a solid balance sheet. I got in a while back at $15.50 or so making the yield on my money close to %10 TBT- A ETF (Exchange traded fund- google it for a definition kinda complicated) basically this fund reflects the current interest rate. The rates are currently very low and when they start changing direction this will be on the up. Long term safe play until rates swap ends again. LDK- Solar company that was knocked down hard in the recession. Personally I believe solar has a future, I snatched it up when I saw the price dive. Got in at $8 on a value hunch which has paid off. BAC- Wouldn't necessarily buy it now but when I watched it go below $5 I called bullshit in that I was positive it wouldn't be going belly up. Took my profits at over 100% gain. Theres a bunch of mutual funds I would recommend but they are all USAA funds which only the military guys can access I believe. |
Great info Kyle!

I hope everyone made it out of this snow storm with all their vehicles intact. I took my Saturn out yesterday to do some playing in snow covered parking lots and ended up hangin out near 67/167 just watching cars spin down the highway bouncing off anything in their way, pretty scary stuff, lots of cars lost their lives yesterday afternoon
|
Hope everyone is ok as well. Up here in Michigan it is covered in snow. People up here know how to drive where down south they don't. I know in Shreveport people flip out when it snows all the local walleyed are out of water and canned foods

So I pulled a triple loopty loo getting onto the interstate in Arkadelphia today. Turning off of Pine street onto the on ramp I goosed it ever so slightly, and my ass end decided to trade places with my front end as I slid about 30 yards down a snow covered embankment. When it was all said and done, I was about 10 yards from the interstate and sitting in a snow filled ditch!
On the bright side, the car doesn't seem to have any new blemishes! Had I been in anything with a higher center of gravity, I would have almost certainly ROLLED my way to a complete stop! Thank God for my low riding baby, and screw a bunch of effin black ice!!! :D |
Man. I am glad to hear that u are alright!!!
