i'm rarely bored at work, there is just too much to do! Only over the christmas festive period when no one is in and there is squat to do its boring as hell but you can duck off to the city or wherever. On a normal day its come in at 8:30 and leave at about 6 with lunch at my desk most days.

I might also add with a manager who takes credit for all our work - even has the gall to take the credit for your work infront of your face in meetings. Scumbag.
Take a look around at most successful people and you'll see that they became that way mostly due to their ability to surround themselves with good, hard working support. If your manager is taking credit for your work what can you do about it? Can you do his job? If so why don't you prove it by either getting an internal promotion or moving on and up?

Perhaps your good work is a result of his good management and therefore something for him to claim credit on? Keep in mind that when you **** up he should be getting credit for that too. What makes the difference is the consistency with which -ve and +ve performance is rewarded.

He also had a different job, and a slow Skyline that he thought was fast. What a dumbarse.

A really good skill that I've found very useful is the ability to delegate when necessary, follow up, and motivate.

It only comes when you step up though (given the right opportunity). Take charge.

managers that take credit for their employees efforst is a sucker, but its totally common in the workplace (more abnormakl if it doesnt happen).

IHMO thats ok, only if they motivate you by saying "good job or your doing very well" or whatever.

Ones that command and dont appreciate will end up getting hammered in the long run.

at my work we got a new manager as the current was seconded, and this guy sucks, im nto sure if he can spell his own name.

this guy has no appreciation and no gratitude... no wonder why we have fallen back way out of our guaranteed turnaround time.

tough times

do you ever think of the pressure that management is under ?

i am fortunate enough to hold a senoir position at the company i work for. The past 2 nights i havent been able to sleep , as i have to sack an employee this afternoon , i know this person has a family, mortgage and currently her husband isnt working either . So its really tough thing to do.
