Lol, resistance is futile!

I just bought the wifi model. At the moment what is required to share your iPhone's 3G connection is that you jailbreak the iPhone and download 'myfi'. This sets it up as a 3G to wifi router. Then connect the iPad to the iPhone as such over wifi.

I'll get around to doing it as soon as I can think of a reason to take the iPad out of the house.
I jail broke my iPhone and it works great. I've got a 3gb data plan with Optus that wasn't being which now is. Do it!

Was locking up and overheating prior to the jailbreak on original firmware and still was the same after jailbreak.

So Im guessing Mircosoft isn't the only one with firmware/ os issues as V3.1.2 and/ or V3.1.3 has resolved those issues jailbroken or not.

As you can tell not an Apple fan.. but the iPhone is a good piece of kit in terms of apps and simplistic useablity, . Too bad on the 3GS the battery is poor and not changeable, crap camera, no adobe flash support, no sd card support, not very customizable, crap bluetooth and iTunes dependent.

Some of the downfalls have been addressed on V4.

Well it's good to see your prejudices don't override a sensible decision.

BTW, why do you consider the need for iTunes a negative? The price is right afterall.

I wouldnt mind using iTunes like I use WMP... the biggest issue I have is locking my iPhone to one iTunes device and not being able to sync at work or my laptop.. just my pc. i did find a hack for it long time ago.. but never tried it.

Ohhh... thought of another negative.. when using TomTom or trapster in the car... battery % still slowly drops even with the car charger plugged in. I used it once without the car charger... by the time I got from Melbourne to Phillip Island I was down to 10% battery

I prefer Wintel setups but Windows Mobile is terrible.. too slow.. apparently Windows 7 mobile rocks... I will believe it when i see it. I also dont see the current iPhone not being able to multi task as a huge issue... end of they day its a phone not a laptop.. theres no multiple 24" screens to use the multitasking capabilities.

Android looks good but about 2 generations behind iPhone for apps, actually ovi store, samsung store, MS store... whatever store.. all wayyyy behind Iphone apps.. will stick to the iPhone but not sold on MACs or Ipads

You know that is a limitation forced on Apple by the music companies?

I use MP3s and download them from other sources. So AAC is totally irrelevant to me.
