I've jailbreaked my phone and am running SwirlyMMS and iRealSMS.

I'm on my first iPhone but then I don't drop mine. Oh, and I bought a cheap skin when the iPhone was first released but it ripped and I bought a Speck all-terrain (ribbed for my pleasure) case and it is serving me well.

 

Has anyone here operating video on their I phone yet?

 

Yeah, one of the apps I downloaded after jailbreaking is a video recorder. Works well.

Is there anyway to stop the iPhone from using the net completely?

i.e sometimes I see the little data icon next to the 3G icon on the top of the screen, meaning that using data connectivity.

Reason I ask is because i'm not on a data plan and i've only got so little data i can use per month before they start charging me a fortune.

 

Don't know if you can turn off the accessing the data network completely but there are some ways around it.

In settings under General, enable Restrictions. You can block, Safari, YouTube, App store, etc. Turn off Push, deactivate your mail account and only fetch data manually. And lastly turn off 3G. At least if you accidentally activate an app then the data will come streaming a lot slower and be up for less money. Plus you will get a better quality voice call and less dropouts.

I just checked international roaming rates and it's 50 cents per 10kb.

I think thats 10 times that of my standard charge here.

I have a dumb question, but I am told there are no dumb questions really.
Have done as much searching and reading but still can't find an answer .

Can I after jailbreaking my 3G Iphone with version 2.2.1 run and update Original Apps. ie can Original Apps and Jailbroken Apps run individually and therefore have the best of both worlds?
At this point in time I am not game to update original apps. or sync for that matter.
