Don't get defensive buddy.
I know you guys like your new toys but it's only information I'm imparting. Perhaps I want to solicit opinions from those that own them before making my mind up about my next phone purchase.

Not defensive, just pointing out a trend in your posts. You only seem to post the negative reviews. If I'm mistaken please correct me.

Negative reviews have helped me decide to wait until some of the issues I'm reading about are rectified before making a purchase (or not).
Here's some first hand experience for you:
Went to breakfast this morning with some friends. They asked about our trip so we showed them photos on the iPhone.
We spoke about venues for a party and I looked them up on Google and checked the facilities and menus.
We then went to Bunnings and they didn't have the item in stock we wanted so I looked up other Bunnings stores online and called then to see if they had any. They didn't.
The device has it's flaws. But all in all it is a phenomenally useful device with an incredibly intuitive interface. It may not do MMS. It may only have a 2M pixel camera. And it may have some security flaw that allows you to bypass the lock code (which I hadn't even implemented until I tried, unsuccessfully mind you, to replicate). But at the end of the day I am very happy with my decision to purchase it, as are plenty of others.

I'm not digging into this argument (not getting involved), I just wanted to share some of my experiences with this phone so far
---------------------
Got an iphone 3G for mum today, prepaid stock has arrived in stores by the bucketloads and I nabbed a 16GB for her.
Let my 92 year old nan play with my iphone on Friday... showed her my pictures from Europe and even she was able to easily scroll through and zoom in and out of the pictures on the phone!!!!!!!! Go Apple Intuitiveness!
My biggest gripe about the phone right now is having and using it in front of friends is bad. They get very easily jealous and start bagging it.
One of them flicks through the photos like a retard, and acts "Frustrated" over why it's not picking up his fingers movements, calls it crap.
.... then I told him that if my 92yo nan could flick through the photos, than he's either trying to make my phone look stupid - or he's just stupid himself
But this phone ain't for everyone, there are genuine problems with this phone, in some aspects it's absolutely brilliant, in other aspects it's absolutely pathetic. So I think it's just a matter of whether the phone's abilities suit your particular needs. There are many people whom wouldn't suit this particular phone... but these particular friend(s) of mine are just plain annoying.
THATS the worst thing about this phone. Tall Poppy Syndrome.

Oh yeah - and it's ****ing slow. There's a delay in everything you do.
I can't imagine running 100 apps on the thing.
..and wtf does apple still not let us replace the batteries! They go out of their way just to force us to replace our products in a few years!
Having said that - I'm thinking about moving my machines from PC to Mac

If you were unbiased you might post the odd positive review. There are quite a few as I'm sure you have read.
I'm looking to replace 3 business phones next month and was keyed up to use the new iPhones. I do like the iPhone concept but am not impressed with certain aspects / shortcomings of the product which I've been reading about on Whirlpool. I'm sure however that these will be addressed in subsequent versions (as they always are).
If they iron out some out the problems I'm reading about then I'll be happy to make the purchase. For the moment I think I'm going to wait a little while and keep asking questions (if that's ok with you
).
