Hmmm, having used a Windows Mobile phone for the last year I think I'll stick to the iPhone.

I have only used windows mobile devices when setting them up for clients and I don't like them one bit. If it was meant to keep the user experience for windows users it totally fails. The only thing that is the same from a navigation point of view is the start button. And even that is different from phone to phone as to how to bring it up.

Add that the fact that using the phone as a modem is only via Internet Connection Sharing using a USB cable and it just looks positively arcaic. I am too spoilt by bluetooth to put up with that... unless of course there is another way of doing it that I don't know about (quite possible given I have only used it for a grand total of 2 hours)

You can certainly share a WM6 device via Bluetooth and use it as a modem but on every other point I couldn't agree more. It's a mongolian clusterf

Anybody have an opinion on which phone has the best reception and speaker quality?

I ask because in my experience they've gotten worse over the years (or maybe it's my hearing ). Some years ago I had a Nokia model that had great reception and a really good quality speaker.

Muz, new Motorolas are pretty good for their reception and voice clarity.

So with only a few days to go for the iPhone release, anyone besides Aus getting one on launch? Going by the hype, there will be major supply shortages.

Just did all the paperwork. I'm 17 months into a 24 month contract so had to break the contract (should have cost $260 but they let me off) and pay out the phone ($84).

Get my 16Gb iPhone on Friday morning.

How did you break the contract without paying for the $260? Are you with Optus directly or through a reseller/retailer?
