Default vacation to australia

Me and a buddy will be coming out that way in October. We were thinking about Brisbane for two weeks. Any pointers you guys have? Where a decently priced hotel? Stuff to do? Any help would be great!

October? I'd suggest spend the 23-25th in Coffs Harbour.

You should go to Melbourne. Surely you've had enough sun and sand.

For things to do (in general) try, www.ourbrisbane.com.au. For accommodation try, http://www.wotif.com/ or the hotel web site directly. I guess it all depends on how much you want to spend.

If you're into the clubs and pubs, you can try the (Fortitude) Valley, or several spots in the CBD and along the river. There are also heaps of inner-city and suburban pubs and clubs. Some places you might want to try out:

- The Press Club
- Cloudland
- Birdy Num Num
- The Empire
- Family
- The Met
- The Bowery Bar
- The Fox Hotel
- The Normanby
- and more in town and on the south side on the Gold Coast

Plenty of dining and cafe spots all over the place - CBD, Caxton St, Park Road, Hamilton, Portside, Ascot, West End, South Bank, Gold Coast, Noosa, and plenty more...

Typical touristy things:

- South Bank
- Queensland Art Gallery
- Queensland Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA)
- Dreamworld, Seaworld, Movieworld, Underwater World, Australia Zoo, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, etc etc
- Lamington National Park
- Skydiving
- Scuba Diving
- Fraser Island, Moreton Island, Stradbroke Island
- Story Bridge Climb
- The Powerhouse
- River kayaking
- Kangaroo Point Cliffs rock climbing
- obviously our beaches
- plus heaps more...

Some events on during October in Brisbane:

- The Brisbane Festival (it's also our 150th birthday this year)
- The Nitro SuperGP
- Caloundra Music Festival
- Oktoberfest in Brisbane
- heaps of other stuff!

Have a great time here
