Drove an EVO5 yesterday
Nothing to report that you don't already know... but yeah... WOW!!!
Drove it around a few twsities outside of Hamilton (NZ) ... asking 32k ... so clean and tidy for an import!
Also hauls asssssss Scared the crap out of the dealer... he decided to jump in the passanger seat... as I went thru a few "65km/h recommended" corners at 130 ... and the car had so much more room to go. Felt great. As for straight line acceleration... yuuuuum!!!
I am going to see if I can find an EVO8 to drive here in Auckland

I was considering buying one when I lived in NZ.
It felt good to see the owner taking the thing up to 180kph. So stable and a lot of torque. Wasn't really something that would make me buy it though!
You should try a few GTRs too.

Hey guys I got all excited when I read Iggy's thread so I went out and took one for a drive myself! I thought it was ok pretty good off the mark but that was all I really got to try out cos for some reason the sales guy freaked. Not too sure why but I got a friend of mine to take some pictures of me in action with this beast. Maybe you guys can explain to me what this guy's problem was

US spec Evo8 is barely an Evo; it's turbo and 4WD but all diffs are mechanical (for some, that's a good thing). Evo has been using some form of electronic diff for... many years now, in some shape or form. Evo 7 was the first to have fully centralised electronic control over power distribution to all 4 wheels.
For Americans, it's back to zero control for Evo8.
