Sydney people: speed camera on northbound HB approach?
I seem to remember someone mentioned here that there's a new speed camera in or near the tunnel on the Cahill Expressway northbound (the 270 degree twisty thing). It's just that I went through there yesterday not knowing what the speed limit is (two conflicting signs, 50km/h and 70km/h within 100m of each other as you go over Circular Quay) and when I reached the other side I got all worried about whether there's a camera or not. I didn't see camera signs but if it's like the Eastern Distributor and Harbour Tunnel there's only one descreet sign near the entrance. What is the actual limit and is there a camera there? Anyone know?

I thought the limit was 70, but now that you mention it, I wouldn't hold anyone to that until I drove past it again. In fact, next time I go past there, you can bet I'll be going 50 until I am certain otherwise!
Oh, BTW, new speed camera is going up on Forest Rd near Peakhurst swimmg pool/local shopping centre. It photographs you when you're coming from Hurstville going towards Salt Pan Creek/George's River.

I dont think there is a camera (although I may not have noticed it or it could have gone up very recently) but I did notice last week that there is a 50 sign first over Cicular Quay station and then a 70 sign going into the tunnel. I remember being puzzled by the 50 sign.

They have been doing 'beautifying' work on the northern side of the Cahill and general road surfacing for a few months. Because of this there is a posted 50km Roadwork sign just for the straight bit of the road. It is then back to 70km either side of this (including in the northbound 'twisty thing' mentioned by naishou).
As far as I know there is no speed camera on any part of the cahill. Guess I can't give 100% assurance but I drive it every day and haven't seen one or any signage for one (and I don't have any speeding fines... touch wood)
