So I just took a Frontier and Tacoma out back to back today.

The frontier was the nismo cc version and the tacoma the TRD Sport CC version.

Boy was I ever disappointed in the Frontier. It's NOTHING like the titan. It was gutless on the hwy (even though it has more power than the tacoma so it must just be gearing).

It felt uncomfortable inside like i was sitting on a bench that i could easily fall off of. I DO like the styling but i have completely dropped off the running.

I never took one of the new ones out, but I have drioven the new Pathfinder and that had the same 4.0 V6, and the thing was really quick. I suspect you are right, which BTW is the way my older Hardbodies were like, low gears, great for power, but not what you would call quick.

For me my greatest dislike with the Tacoma was always the interior, it seemed to me Toyota just had a really tight, close, small coskpit. So were you happy witht he limited space in the Tacos interior? It's cannot be easy looking at trucks like this after having spent time in a Titan.

Gearing to tow would = more acceleration...

I liked the closeness feeling in the tacoma. It DID have a lot of room but i didn't feel like i was in a hug bathtub.

The titans seats actually fit you and the arm rests are in a good position (one on the seat as well as the door. The frontier didn't have an arm rest on the seat and the center console arm rest was too low. It felt very uncomfortable.

No it does not... Is granny gear fast? No. That is the lowest gear going, low gearing = higher engine revs for same tire revolution so the power can be put down. Low gearing does not help with acceleration, it may help off the line because the power delivery is better, but it does not equate to speed. If you believe it does, I'll drag race ya, my Titan agains anything you got, I'll use drive, you have to use granny gear.

You think the Taco has a lot of room in it? Oh, that's right, you and that girlie figure only weight a few pounds... I test drove the Taco, several generations, even the latest, and I thought all of them were cramped.

Ok... if lower gearing which = higher engine revs is slower to accelerate. Why does the Titan with the big tow package accelerate faster than the Titan without?

And if me at 6'2" 200lb is considered a girlie figure would you consider yourself to have a toddler figure?

Again I think you're comparing the space in the Tacoma to the Titan. You simply can't. All I'm saying is there is quite a bit of volume inside the Tacoma interior and and I had more than enough room in the driver seat to fit my freakishly large girlie figure inside. . I agree it does give off more of a cockpit feeling but that's what I'm used to (with the S) which is probably why I liked it more.

Sorry, remember, our Thanksgiving is in November, as in been away for 4 days.

Nice deal on the TO forum. WTF? Taken down with no explanation as to why?

I'm ok with the toddler thing, at least ya did not say midget.

No, comparing Tacoma space to Hardbody space, the Taco was always dramatically smaller. Like I said before, I have not been in a current Frontier, but when I was in the small pickup market the Taco has the worst tint interior, heck, even my crappy '94 Chevy S-10 was more comfy.

Don't know what to say, my experience has always been lower gearing on trucks seems to make them slower off the line, and it could just be because the revs are higher per a given speed it is slower because I drive my trucks like a little old lady. I do not pounce out from a light, I drive with proverbial egg between my foot and the gas pedal.

Is your Thanksgiving already past, or yet to come?
