anyway, i think the whole situation is bad for F1. it really sucks for McLaren, however, i think they deserve it and they were careless. this year's drivers championship is very good for F1...hate to say it....because of LH. the FIA will shoot themselves in the foot if they take that away by removing the driver's points.
McLaren set to fight exclusion
by Niamh O'Mahony, 13 September 2007
McLaren look set to fight against their exclusion from the 2007 Constructors' Championship after Mercedes boss Norbert Haug revealed that they were stunned by Thursday's decision.
The British outfit have had all their team points deducted, with the World Motor Sport Council due to explain the reasoning for their actions on Friday.
"This judgment comes as an extreme shock for all team members and, as demonstrated by the reactions of large parts of the public, the media and Formula 1 viewers, is a shock for large segments of the public as well," Haug told reporters afterwards.
"We will now fight with all our resolve in order to give a proper response on the circuit, as we last did in Monza, and to get justice before the court."
The team can contest the penalties to the FIA's International Court of Appeal.
And it's still not over....

I took the extra time to format mine into a quote, looks like we were working on those posts at the same time...
This is pure BS. I like LH and all, but he's guilty by association. This verdict would be sufficient if it included a stipulation that McLaren must supply the full technical details of their 2008 car to Ferrari so that Ferrari can " not use any of it".
What a crock.
What a crock.

That was great! I really like your point of view. Thanks

So let me see...McLaren was found to have used other people's IP in some fashion, the drivers also had knowledge of that IP, yet the driver's keep their points...

So it may not a case of them not being viewed as guilty by the FIA but may rather be a case of them "rolling over" on the team.
