New points system proposal
* New points-scoring system (12-9-7-5-4-3-2-1), to give greater differentiation/reward to grand prix winners
Also suggest is a constructor's point for the fastest pitstop - I hope this does NOT go through - it's just begging for accidents...

Besides, what if somebody ducks into the pits, stops momentarily, and then goes. Do they get a free point? That would be valuable for some backmarker team that isn't going to score a point any other way.

The points difference between 1st & 2nd place is a great suggestion and the FIA should implement it ASAP. I say so because I feel Massa deserved last years championship for the way he drove. He was the most improved driver of the season while in no way diminishing what Alonso and Kubica did for their teams.
People could argue that Hamilton was penalized unfairly at Spa, but then Massa was also unfairly let down by a pit error in Singapore. Had he won Singapore then he'd have comfortably sealed the drivers championship imho.

with what you've said. Constructors should be based on the point tallies of the teams drivers as it has always been.

BTW- the guy who started this thread, he's my buddy, I go up to his place every year for the 1st and last race, he has a TV that's lets say, is well worth the trip for.

. I'd say that Albert Park and Interlagos are well worth the drive.
