love the jenson button lovefest here.

i think he's definitely a good driver but no one can discount the importance of a good car in F1. either way, let's see how he does at the race of champions in beijing this year (last year he wasn't that great, but oh well). i still remember when he made his F1 debut with williams alongside ralf.

oh yea, and his girl jessica michibata is hawt.

we cannot judge Button's 2007,08 performance bcz the car was too crappy to do anything well.
Yes we can - by comparing him to his team-mate.

2008 - JB - 3 pts, RB - 11 pts
2007 - JB - 6 pts, RB - 0 pts

To me a great driver never gets beaten by a 2nd string driver consistently - RB is definitely second string (great driver who will consistently deliver points, but not a lead driver). Granted it was the only year that I can recall, but it still happened.

[QUOTE] i think matrix and i wont have a deal. but its ok, i respect matrix's opinion.

How many actual racers can do that though? There's no doubt that JB is not in the field of greats like Schumi and Senna. We can also safely say that Alonso is a better racer than him. So how many other racers have been able to win with a not so good car? Kimi? No. Lewis? No. Irvin? No.
Agree 100% here, I said before that LH and JB are the same caliber...I stick to that.

KR - was never a fan, I have always said he is over-rated
EI - ??? JB is better!

[QUOTE]JB is and will always be a 2nd tier level racer.

I also respect your opinion (like I have already said, I do think JB has talent - just not in the same league as the greats) and the good thing is it didn't get dragged into personal attacks like it usually ends up - people can disagree but converse in a normal fashion!
Ok I'm gonna be a lil mischievous here and potentially provoke a personal attack

How about JB in a Ferrari? He definitely wont be as good as Schumi, but will he do as good if not better than Massa or Kimi?
(OR)
Whaddabout JB driving for McLaren alongside Lewis? Im guessing definitely better than Heikki

^ that is an interesting question - once aquainted with the car, I think he would equal KR but slightly behind FM. I also think JB and FM share the same fault - can't win in a non-perfect car and easily disheartened at times during a race.

In a McLaren, definitely better than HK, equal to LH.

A very balanced opinion and with your assessment.

my opinion is a bit imbalanced i think he'd outperform LH on equal cars by a small margin. i also think if it ever happenes that LH and JB become team mates, they wont get along!

What happened to the original question of "so is BrawnGp done?" How does this always turn into a debate about how good JB is compared to everyone else and how he has been shafted with a shit car until this year?

As for the original question. With the resurgence of McLaren and Ferrari; MW will have to fight to finish every single race at least 2 positions higher than JB to ensure that he wins the WDC. So as long as JB doesn't have a bad race, Ferrari and McLaren continue to finish on the podium, and JB finishes in the points he should win the WDC.

its going to be a interesting end of the season for sure.

like you said, MW has to finish at least 2 places ahead of JB for the rest of the season. IMO, i think the resurgence of mclaren and ferrari only helps MW since now there are more cars that can come between the RBR and BGP cars. either way, MW (and SV) are going to have to fight for every single place from here on out.

damn, i need some F1!!!! it's already been too long.

I hear that...four week gap between races is good for the teams and mechanics, bad for the rabid F1 fans! Especially when there was a three week gap not too long ago already!

Webber, Vettel and Red Bull FTW!
