Default check engine light on?

hi guys

my car had been sitting in the garage for 3 weeks without driven, so when i came back, the battery died. so i hooked my car with another and jump started it. my friend and i drove for more than 1 hour and it was running well.

today when i about to start the car, i forget he left the first gear in, so i stalled the car.

then i see the check engine light is on.

any one know why this is happening?

thanks guys

Pulling the code is your best bet. It'll tell you what the error code is and narrows down the troubleshooting. Otherwise, it's like everyone trying to shoot a target in the dark.

The car should be fine, ecu probably detect a misfire when you stalled out so it stored a temporary code..

I think after 3 complete cycles of dead cold to operating temperature if the ECU doesn't see whatever fault caused the CEL to light up it will turn the light off. Might still be worth checking into the code to be sure. Could be an issue if you have a smog check coming up as it will still have the fault code stored.
