how many miles on the car? how many miles since ur last oil change? the car is fine with the maintenace light on. it's just reminding you that you need to do something...like change your oil, etc.
learn how to perform maintenace on your own car and save mucho money. plus you know that it's being done right. i heard stories of honda mechanics putting the wrong fluids in the s2k and jacking things up pretty bad.

It's telling you to go to the dealer and give them some money. If you're not due for any maintenance, turn the light off (there are a bunch of S2Ki threads on how) and keep on driving.

Change your diff and transmission fluids.
To turn off the maintanance required light, press and hold down the trip reset button as you turn the ignition on and hold reset button till light goes out, about 2 seconds.

i believe the "maint req'd" is just a reminder. it doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong with your car and you have to take it into a mechanic. there's the "check eng" light for those things.
so once you perform the maintenance, you should turn the light off just like how RACER described.
