Default Stock speaker wire size

Anyone know whats the gauge the stock speaker wires are or the wires that comes with Alpine headunits?

I've searched and some people say 20 and some say 26. I just picked up some 24 gauge wires since it looks about right, but they also had some 18 gauge in stock.

It's definitely not 26Ga. That is way too thin. I would say 22Ga at the smallest. Probably 20. I would run 18Ga if I were you. 24Ga is too small!!!

are you rewiring your car? I'm using I think 18 gauge for my infinity kappa components.

Yea, I went back right after I posted and got some 18 gauge and used it to install some rollhop speakers. Sounds a ton better. Will last me until I decide I want a whole system with an amp, components, and a sub.
