Looking for nearby mechanic to replace AP1 Valve Retainers (Intake side)
I recently picked up an AP1 (loving it!) and I've read that the valve retainers can be cracked from a previous owner's over-rev and that the car will go along fine for thousands of miles and then just one day..... kaboom.
I'm willing to hire a mechanic to take a look at the underside of my valve retainers for cracks, and even replace with the intake side with AP2 retainers, but every mechanic I call thinks I'm crazy and paranoid and isn't interested in the job.
Does anyone have any ideas of how I can convince mechanics that this is a real issue? Or does anyone know anyone in the Sacramento area (anywhere within a couple hour drive is good too) that has done this type of work in the past?
Thanks so much!

Sorry to revive this thread but I am in the Turlock area 40 min south of Stockton, a little over an hour away from Sacramento. Wondering if anyone knows of any shops in any of those areas to replace my retainers as well! Please pm me if you know of any shops at all.
