Go look at your clutch pedal for any fluid coming down. It might be the master cylinder leaking.

As posted above looking for fluid is always a simple call. Master or slave could leak.
Even the lines could leak though so really it all needs to be looked at.
Go take a look at your reservoir and see if it's dirty though firstly. That takes 1 min.

To answer your question, yes that COULD be the case, or your seals could just have let some air in, it happens. If when bled there is air in the system you need to find out WHERE it came from. Most likely some little seal in there has just had it's day.

Logical steps from here for both of you:

1. Check your reservoir and see if the fluid is dirty rather then nice and clear.
2. Look for any wetness anywhere in the system your able to check.
3. Bleed it or have someone bleed it for you.
4. Make a call from there as to what the issue is depending on your findings.
