Default Local Alarm Install

Time to upgrade the stock alarm. What features should I be looking for? This is my first for a convert, so I'm assuming there is some sort of motion sensor feature I should have since a sharp knife would allow a low-life to avoid the shock sensor when breaking in? Any locall (to Pasadena) shop recommended? Any bit of usefull info is appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
MM

I'm having my alarm installed this weekend up in canoga park with Mitch at Famous Auto Sound. I asked him about the motion sensor and he said that if someone is gonna cut the top they are gonna cut it to unlock and open the door. which sounds reasonable..
