08' 535i, thoughts?
Can't speak on the 535 but our 07 335i is about to crack 85K miles most of which have been with an exhaust and Proceed v3 (around 400RHWP) and it hasn't required anything outside of routine maintenance. I know there are a lot threads that bad mouth HPFPs and such in the N54 but those with good experiences don't bother posting. It's been a solid car...I wouldn't classify at as reliable as my MDX but it's been a reliable car and is driven hard frequently. It's fun to drive and still surprises a lot of other cars .
Fuel pump problems are solved. Make sure it has had the pump recall and injector recall done and does not have wastgate rattle. Also, you will need a set of snows. The car will be due for spark plugs at 40-45k miles and an intake valve cleaning/de-carbon at any time past 35-40k miles.

I'm at almost 32k on the N54 with no problems. Previous owner already had the HPFP recall solved before I bought it. OP, just get one with low miles and all the recalls for the 08; shouldn't have any real issues..the non turbo is a nice car as well if you don't wanna worry about the wastegate issue in the long haul
