The new EcoBoost is available in 1/2 ton trucks, and isn't meant to compete w/ powertrains available in 3/4+ ton trucks. Need to tow a really heavy load regularly? You're still going to find that nothing beats a turbo diesel....but I'm sure this engine (+ the Tundra's big V8, which hauls very impressively for a 1/2 ton) suffice for a lot of apps that many use turbodiesels for.

im pretty excited to see these things in action too. i also love the old ford diesels, im a service advisor at a ford dealership LOL
